Welcoming, “the best of the best” to school District 50, 77 new teachers attended an orientation breakfast on Tuesday, August 5 to get a jump start on the new school year and in many cases their brand new careers.
It was a chance for new teachers to meet the other fresh faces in the District and also spend some casual time with district leaders and principals.
Chief Human Resources Officer, Kirk Leday hosted the morning event on the patio at Westminster High School. He told new staff that the competition for the openings in District 50 was intense and they should all be proud of themselves for being selected. He reminded them what a “noble” profession public education is and the important impact they will have on many young lives.
New teachers always arrive a week early so they can learn more about the district and its Competency Based System (CBS).
Welcome one and all!
