Westminster Public Schools

Where Education is Personal

 September 4th - D50 Insider

D50 Insider

Welcome to this week's edition of the D50 Insider!

It’s official. Adams County School District 50 voters will be asked to support a mill levy override and bond at the November 4 General election. The Board of Education approved the ballot language last week. The Insider has the details.

A 1993 graduate of Westminster High School was killed last month while serving his country in Afghanistan. We’ll tell you more about the life of Matthew Leggett and plans to honor his memory.

“Do it again!” That was the view of teachers across District 50 after attending an afternoon CBS Symposium during their first week back to work. We’ll tell you about it.

Students and staff noticed some big changes when they came back to schools this year that had air conditioning installed over the summer. They took time to thank the Board of Education with cards and a video. We will share them with you.

Speaking of COOL. You have probably heard about the Ice Bucket Challenge. This week’s Insider video shows you how our community rose to the occasion.

There are some new faces across the District in leadership positions and some old faces in new places. We will tell you who is where.

The Insider has an electronic version of a mailer that was sent out to local residents this month highlighting some of the changes and accomplishments.

And a reminder, the Second Annual Ranum/Westminster High School Alumni Golf Tournament is coming up soon. All the golf slots are taken, but you can still attend the patio party.

We also have the details you need to know about homecoming weekend.

As always, check out the entire program listing for D50 TV this week, as well as the District’s Calendar of Events.

Thanks for reading,
Steve Saunders
