Video Explains School Closure Process

Snow

One of the most common questions parents and students and staff have is: “How do you decide to close the school district on bad weather days?”

It’s not always a clear cut or easy decision, so the Communications Department has created a video explaining the steps involved in making the decision and show you how much work goes into keeping a district open when the weather turns nasty.

As Chief Operations Officer James Duffy explains, “every storm is different and there is no magic formula based on the number of inches of snow or how cold the thermometer reads.”

The bottom line is safety.
