Welcome to this week’s edition of the D50 Insider! The final edition of 2014.

District 50 is one of just ten districts in Colorado to be selected for this year’s AP Honor Roll which recognizes districts that show improving results and participation by students. We have the details.

We all know that a STEM education is in high demand these days. Recently a group of elementary school students visited the high school to see it in action.

Sunset Ridge Principal Roger Vadeen brought some of his staff to last week’s Board of Education meeting to talk about the special honor his school recently received from the state of Colorado. You can read the details here.

A 1999 graduate of Westminster High School, who was severely injured while fighting for his country in Iraq, has made an impressive recovery and soccer is part of his success story.

Santa Claus and the Superintendent teamed up recently to respond to a group of first graders at Sherrelwood Elementary. We will share their letters to Santa and his reply.

Baker Elementary is coming down. Demolition work is well underway on the old school at the south side of the District.
