The community got a chance to see for themselves what goes on during a negotiating session between the Westminster Education Association and District 50.
About 30 people showed up at Westminster High School last week for the first public session. The next meeting is scheduled for February 26th at Hidden Lake High School.
Last November, Colorado voters overwhelming approved Proposition 104, which requires the negotiations to be held in public. While the general public is encouraged to attend, people are not allowed to actively participate in the negotiations, which remain the role of pre-selected members of the negotiating teams.
The two parties dove right into a discussion of financial issues and traded proposals which you can see here.
