National Honor Society Inducts New Members

NHS

I pledge to uphold high purposes of the National Honor Society to which I have been selected; I will be true to the principles for which it stands; I will be loyal to my school; and will maintain and encourage high standards of scholarship, leadership, service and character.

The National Honor Society (NHS) inducted its newest class Monday night at the annual spring ceremony at Westminster High School. NHS recognizes students who meet required standards in character, leadership, community service and academics.

Teachers nominate students to become NHS members, who also receive special recognition during high school graduation ceremonies.

Senior NHS students who complete 100 hours of service and maintain a 3.5 G.P.A. are honored with a special “chord” to be worn during the ceremony.

NHS membership is also valued on college and scholarship applications.
