The Colorado Association of School Business Officials has recognized something about Eric Hodges that many of us in Westminster Pubic Schools have known all along; he puts kids first.
During the organization’s spring conference, Hodges, who is Director of Procurement and Materials Management for Westminster Public Schools, was given the Service to Profession Award. Hodges has worked in the District for 32 years.
His nomination letter read in part:
“As a support employee Eric has never lost sight of the number one customer in any district, the student. Eric has taken personal time to ensure that the students of Westminster Public Schools have all the tools they need to succeed. Eric has been described as ‘the most beloved employee’ in the District. Eric is viewed upon as a rock by both his superiors as well as his employees.”
Three specific criteria are considered for the Service to Profession Award:
- Leadership in the School - The applicant has gone above and beyond the call of duty to improve the learning conditions for students in their school system.
- Leadership in the Profession - The applicant has demonstrated commitment to improving the level of professionalism among school business administrators by providing professional development opportunities for others and by motivating others to achieve.
- Professional Development - The applicant has shown continuous interest in learning and in staying abreast of developments in the school business management field.
In addition to his recognition at the spring conference, the Board of Education also celebrated his award.
If you see him, make sure to tell him how appreciative you are of his work. Congratulations Eric Hodges!
