Welcome to the final edition of the 2015-16 INSIDER!

Congratulations to the Westminster High School Class of 2016. We have all the highlights from Saturday’s ceremony as well as from last week’s Senior Awards Ceremony. This year’s class is an impressive one.

Parents and students have another school choice. We have all the details about the opening of the Westminster Academy for International Studies. It will open as a preschool through sixth grade school next fall at the site of Westminster Elementary.

Big news for parents with little ones. Next year, seven schools in the District will offer free full day preschool. We will tell you how to apply.

This week’s Insider profiles some of the amazing people who make Westminster Public Schools such a special place. Our Insider video takes you into the classroom with Teacher of the Year Angie Edmundson and we will also tell you about the four Educational Support Professionals of the Year.

It was an emotional night in the Joanna Ramsey Theatre last week for the premiere of the student produced documentary film “MEDIC!” It tells the story of five brave combat medics who were profiled in the student film.

Among the Westminster High School seniors who graduated over the weekend was a Daniels Scholar; we’ll introduce you to Brandon Dickerson. Speaking of honors, Sandi Nees has been named “Education Partner of the Year.”

Three of our bus drivers have been identified as some of the best in the business. We have more on that and we will tell you about this year’s retirees who were honored at our annual celebration.

As always we have the TV lineup and our calendar of events.

Thanks for reading!
