Welcome to Mesa Elementary School!
Our staff is excited for the 2016-17 school year and to partner with our families! This year we are continuing with implementation of our Competency-Based System (CBS) in Westminster Public Schools. In our Competency-Based System, we have clearly defined what students should know and be able to do throughout their educational journey. Students will move from one level to the next in all content areas by demonstrating that they have mastered content knowledge in a level before moving to the next higher level. Your child will be in a performance level for literacy (reading/writing), math, science, social studies, art, music, physical education and technology. Our teachers are looking forward to building upon what your child learned last year, teaching and supporting them during this school year; allowing them to move up to the next performance level.
Character Counts! Mesa will have a focus on teaching Character Education to all students. Each month will focus on a specific character trait. The Character Trait for November/December is KINDNESS: The quality of being friendly, generous, helpful and caring.
The Mesa Staff values our commitment to families and we look forward to seeing you volunteer at school this year! You are your child’s first and most important teacher. It is our honor to teach your children. Thank you for choosing to send your children to Mesa.
We are definitely going to have an amazing year! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me during the school year. You may phone me through the school office phone number (303-428-2891) or stop in at the front office.
Once again, THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING MESA!
