Meet The Board

 Westminster Public Schools belief that "Education is Personal" is reflected by the fact that every member of the Board of Education grew up in the community and received their high school diploma from one of our schools.   That is a rarity.  Read below to learn more about the members that work so hard on behalf of all of our students and staff.  

Larry Dean Valente - School Board President

Larry Dean Valente was first elected to the Board of Education in November of 2011
and reelected in November of 2015.  
Dino Valente Mr. Valente and his family have been long time contributors to the community, active in both business and politics. Valente's mother Elaine served as an Adams County Commissioner. Valente is a Westminster High School graduate from the class of 1988. He attended the University of Denver where he earned a degree in International Studies and then attained a license to practice law.

Elected Term: November 2015- November 2019.

Joe Davidek - School Board Vice President

Joe Davidek was elected to the Board of Education in 2013. Joe

Davidek attended District 50 schools his entire life and graduated from Westminster High School in 1976. Joe has two children who were also educated in Westminster Public Schools and graduated from Westminster High School. 
                        
 

Elected Term: November 2013 - November 2017

Max Math - School Board Director

Max Math was elected to the Board of Education in 2015.Max Math

Mr. Math’s father and mother-in-law attended Union High in 1946.  He and his wife, Christy, are 1979 graduates of Westminster High School.  He attended Westminster Elementary and Christy attended Harris Park Elementary.  All his children attended Tennyson Knolls Elementary, Hodgkins Junior High, and Westminster High School.  Mr. Math attended the University of Colorado and the University of Phoenix, and received his degree in Business.  He then received his Master’s in Public Administration from University of Southern California.

Ryan McCoy - School Board Secretary

Ryan McCoy was elected to the Board of Education in 2013.Ryan McCoy

McCoy has deep roots in the Westminster community having graduated from Westminster High School in 2000. His father is a graduate of Ranum High School. McCoy also has a child in the Westminster Public Schools system and another child who will attend WPS schools when he is older.

Elected Term: November 2013 - November 2017

Ken Ciancio - School Board Treasurer

Ken Ciancio was appointed to the Board of Education in April of 2014 and
elected to the Board in November of 2015. 
Ken Ciancio

Ken is a life-long District 50 resident and 1982 Ranum High School graduate. He attended Regis University where he earned degrees in Political Science and History. Ken has extensive family who have attended Westminster Public Schools and his father, Don Ciancio, served on the  Board of Education in the 1980’s and 90’s.
 

Elected Term: November 2015- November 2019.
