  • Dear Shaw Heights parents, guardians, and community,

Yesterday afternoon, a Shaw Heights student was involved in an auto-pedestrian accident.  This occurred on 88th and Lowell Blvd right after school.  Fortunately, our student is doing fine and was released from the hospital last evening. Please remind your children to be very careful walking home or riding their bikes or scooters, especially on 88th or Lowell which are high traffic streets. Students should be reminded to look twice when crossing the street and to walk with other students. Parents please be extra cautious while driving in our area and abide by all of the speed limits and traffic rules and always watch for students coming or going to school. The safety of our students is our number one priority and we want everyone to be safe coming and going from school. Please call us at Shaw Heights if you should have any questions.

    Sincerely,

    Mike Carlson

Principal at Shaw Heights Middle School

    Atentamente,
    Mike Carlson
Director de Shaw Heights Middle School

  • Happy New Year to all of our Shaw Heights families and friends!

Now that we are back from our Holiday Break, we are excited and refreshed for the New Year.  Students have received their new schedules for second semester, so we encourage you to talk with your children about a new class they may have and how it is going for them. Our testing season is fast approaching and the assessments of ACCESS, PARCC, and CMAS will all be coming up soon.  Please ensure your child is well-rested, has eaten breakfast (or will eat at school), drinks plenty of water, and is encouraged to “do their best on the test!” The staff at Shaw Heights is very committed to the district mantra of “Where Education is Personal”.  If you have questions, concerns, or just want to stop  by and say ‘hello’, please do so.  We look forward to our continued partnership with you this semester!

    Sincerely,

    Shaw Heights Administration

    Mike Carlson – Principal

    Lori Ulibarri – Asst Principal

John Uridil – Dean of Students

  • In our annual dodgeball tournament, the SHMS students cheered on their peers in their quest to become back to back dodgeball champions. Unfortunately, the SHMS staff provided a upset to the students plan. Great job to all participants and fans! GO TEACHERS!!!! All money collected for the tournament goes to the Have A Heart Foundation.
