About Our Principal

Roger Vadeen is the proud principal of Sunset Ridge PK-8. Mr. Vadeen has been in education for 31 years. He was a teacher at the elementary level for ten years. He has been an assistant principal and principal for 21 years. This is Mr. Vadeen’s 20th year serving as the principal of Sunset Ridge PK-8. In 2013, Mr. Vadeen was a Top 3 Finalist for the National Distinguished Principal Program’s Principal of the Year Award. "It has been a great honor to be able to lead Sunset Ridge PK-8 for the past 21 years. I am very grateful to the Sunset Ridge community for the trust and confidence they have in my leadership of this wonderful school. Over the course of the years, I have seen thousands of students getting a first-class education at Sunset Ridge. In 2014, the State of Colorado and the Colorado Department of Education recognized Sunset Ridge as a recipient of the Governor’s Distinguished Improvement Award. In 2015, we were awarded a $30,000 grant by the Foundation for Great Schools for our success with students. The Foundation for Great Schools commended Sunset Ridge PK-8 as a school of excellence where outstanding things were being achieved for students. It is with pleasure that I continue to serve as the principal of this excellent school. The students of Sunset Ridge PK-8 are lucky to have such a great team of educators working hard for their benefit.” I say thank you to all of our parents and family members for your trust in allowing us to work with your children. Roger Vadeen es el orgulloso director de Sunset Ridge PK-8. El Sr. Vadeen ha estado en educación durante 31 años. Fue maestro en el nivel elemental durante diez años. Ha sido subdirector y director durante 21 años. Este es el vigésimo año del Sr. Vadeen como director de Sunset Ridge PK-8. En 2013, el Sr. Vadeen fue uno de los tres finalistas principales del Premio al Director del Año del Programa Nacional de Directores Distinguidos.
