    Hello Families,

    Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! I am looking forward to what will hopefully become a safe, in-person learning experience for your child. 

    In the event that we must change to remote learning, I will do my best to communicate with you using Clas Dojo. Please let me know if you need assistance setting up your classroom account.

    If we have to switch to remote learning, students will access assignments through a district- mandated platform called Empower. Through this system, I will provide your child with daily assignments across content areas. Additionally, students will be expected to attend Zoom meetings throughout the day. While I will do my best to limit the amount of screen time asociated with these meetings, attendance will be mandatory. Stay tuned for more details in the event that we must make this transition.

    Meet Mrs. McDaniel 

     

    I started teaching in 2002 at Sunset Ridge Elementary School. Most of my experience has been with third graders, but I have taught students from kindergarten through fifth grade. Sunset Ridge has become like a family to me, and I am excited to continue to teach in this school.

    I graduated from Metropolitan State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in English and a minor in Reading. This is also where I earned my Elementary Education Certification. I later earned my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction in 2008. 

    In my free time I enjoy hiking, camping, traveling, and spending time with my two boys and husband.

     

    I am looking forward to another great school year at Sunset Ridge!
