• The WPS Creative Arts Pipeline was in high gear with the inaugural Summer Arts Camp. The camp’s theme was “Superheroes”, and offered classes in band, orchestra, vocal music, drama, dance, studio art and video cinema arts for ages 8 to 14. The camp ran from July 24 through Aug. 4, culminating with a showcase event where approximately 200 parents, community and district leaders attended.

The showcase featured performances by the beginning and festival band and orchestras. Also, the drama, dance and vocal music students wrote the script and music score, and choreographed the dance to a small musical production. The camp was a chance for students to keep their creative juices flowing during the summer months, which was proof that education continues year round in WPS. See photos from the summer camp below.
