FRCC Healthcare Pre-Apprenticeship
Interested in exploring healthcare careers and apprenticeships in healthcare?
This pre-apprenticeship program will provide an introduction to careers and skills in healthcare through an Apprenticeship model. Each pre-apprentice will choose one of three occupations (Medical Assisting, Pharmacy Technician, and Sterile Processing) to investigate more about; learning specific skills for these individualized fields and prepare them to be successful in an apprenticeship program in that occupation.
This free 7-week program will cover career exploration of healthcare careers, review of the apprenticeship model for training, digital literacy/skills for healthcare, communication and professionalism in healthcare, including resume development and interview skills. Lastly, each pre-apprentice will become CPR certified in Basic Life Support (BLS). Students will also be provided with employer contacts who are hiring apprentices in the healthcare sector.
