Dear Parents/Guardians,
I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. As we progress through the academic year, we want to take a moment to remind everyone of the importance of maintaining a positive and professional environment within our school. We believe that a safe and respectful atmosphere is essential for effective learning, and as such, we would like to reinforce our school's Dress Code and Appearance Guidelines.
Dress Code and Appearance Guidelines:
1. Sunglasses and Hats: For safety and respectful communication purposes, we kindly request that students do not wear sunglasses and/or hats inside the school building. This helps to foster a professional learning community.
2. Inappropriate Symbols or Messages: Clothing that displays or promotes alcohol, drugs, sexual innuendo, gang affiliation, or violence is strictly unacceptable. We expect all students to wear attire that is free from any offensive symbols or messages.
3. Length of Bottoms: Shorts, dresses, skirts, etc., must be at least mid-thigh length. Additionally, these items should not rest lower than the top of the hips. We discourage sagging as it does not align with our school's professional standards.
4. Coverage of Tops: Tops worn by students must provide full coverage of the midriff, sides, and/or back. This includes, but is not limited to, muscle shirts, halter tops, and backless shirts. Students are expected to choose attire that is appropriate for a school and professional setting.
5. Visible ID: Students are required to have their ID visible at all times. This helps maintain the security of our school and ensures that everyone in the building belongs here.
We believe that adhering to these guidelines will help create a respectful and conducive environment for learning. Students found in violation of these guidelines will be required to change their clothing in order to remain at school. We will also provide black shirts for students to change into. Refusal to change will result in a phone call home where parents/guardians can provide a school appropriate alternative.
We appreciate your support and cooperation in reinforcing these expectations with your child. By working together, we can maintain a positive and focused learning environment for all students.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.
Warm regards,
Richard Diehl

Interested in attending Hidden Lake High School?
Hidden Lake hosts enrollment nights at various times throughout the year for new students who are looking to apply. See the calendar listing at the top of the page. If you are coming from outside of the district, please come prepared with the students' transcript, attendance, and behavior report (failure to bring them could put the students' acceptance status on hold until received). Enrollment Night will be held in the school cafeteria.
Additionally, please keep in mind that enrollment nights are ONLY for new students applying to Hidden Lake. Current students do not have to attend Enrollment Nights.
