• To the F.M. Day Elementary Community:

It is bittersweet to see the end of the 19-20 school year. No one could have anticipated the way COVID-19 would force us to close out the school year early, and rob us of a proper goodbye and end-of-the-year celebration. Despite the craziness of the year, we saw our community shine bright and rally together as the close-knit family we were, are, and always will be. In this last message, I would like to take the opportunity to offer my deepest gratitude.

Students: You are the reason of our work. We believe in you and your potential. You challenged us to become better educators and people. You showed us that there is still good in the world, and why it is important to keep going. We will miss you greatly and look forward to hearing about all your great achievements!

Families and Volunteers: Thank you for all the time you devoted to make our school the best place to work in. We appreciate the time you helped and participated in events. Thank you for attending meetings and concerts, volunteering, and showing our team spirit through it all. Most of all, thank you for believing in us and trusting us with your children.

Staff: Thank you for never giving up and always advocating for our students, even in the darkest and hardest times. You devoted your time, expertise, resources, and heart to students, not out of obligation, but out of love. The students were lucky to have such great team rallying behind them, and I am a better person for having worked alongside such a great team.

Through it all, I have grown and learned a lot. This would not have been possible without your support and trust. You will always have a special place in my heart. Although our school will look different next school year, please remember that Francis M. Day will always be your home. We wish you and yours a happy, safe and healthy summer and the best for the new school year to come. Go Bulldogs!

    With gratitude,

    Aylane Dibildox
