Hello Fairview Families,
Last year we ended with the most unexpected school year in our history. Without a doubt, it has been very difficult at times and Fairview’s staff, students, and families have risen to the challenge and have really shown what it means to be part of the WPS community. Thank you so much to all of you for doing your part to help make the best of a bad situation.
As we come together to begin a new school year, we want to be sure to leave you with a clear message of our process for moving forward. While there is still a great deal of uncertainty around what to expect, we planned for a range of possible scenarios and we have taken every one of your survey responses into consideration.
For now, here is a list of key points that have driven our planning:
- Our structure of how Fairview operates is different than usual. The school is now divided into cohorts and students stay within the bounds of the school-wing that they are assigned. Please see our re-opening plan. WPS Reopening Plan
- In any scenario, we have worked to create a structure that maximizes in-person learning within the bounds of public health guidelines. Soft starts and staggard dismissal also support the health of our children. WPS Return to School Fall 2020
- We recognize that continuing adjustments may be needed as public health guidelines change.
- We will always inform you, via Facebook, of our school community's successes and/ or next steps. Please subcribe to our Facebook page for updates. Fairview Facebook
We appreciate the inspiring emails, encouraging phone calls, and your willingness to team up with your child’s teachers. We are obliged to work with you and for you during the 2020-2021 school year. We will continue to be in touch and please stay in contact and let us know if you need anything. In the meantime, please be sure to stay safe and enjoy the 2020-2021 school year. We are in this together.
