Westminster Public Schools

Where Education is Personal

May 25th - D50 Insider

Welcome Back to a Special Graduation Issue of the District 50 Insider!

This final edition of the Insider for the school year is filled with pictures and videos that capture the fun, and importance of education.

We have video highlights of graduation ceremonies from both Westminster High School and Hidden Lake High school.

We also have a slideshow from the ECC graduation as well. It’s hard to go wrong with pictures of happy, smiling four-year-olds.

We also have a slide show from the older generation. The Retirement Tea returned this year to rave reviews. We have pictures and a video clip to tell you who is retiring.

Students at Westminster Elementary have a new sandbox and dollhouse as a gift from the high school wood shop class. We have the story.

When elementary school students return next season they will all be getting a fresh fruit and veggie snack in the afternoon. It’s a healthy partnership.

One of the great community success stories this year comes from Flynn Elementary where parents set aside a special morning for “Donuts and Dads” and “Muffins and Moms.”  We’ve got details.

Joanna Ramsey is retiring from Westminster High School as drama teacher after 37 years in public education. Students from years ago joined others Friday night for “Jo’s Curtain Call.” The program included a video tribute that you can see in the Insider.

And a reminder that Wednesday is the District 50 Education Foundation Golf Tournament that this year includes the 1st annual golf ball drop. It’s an exciting way to raise money for a great organization.

Have a wonderful summer and thanks for reading the District 50 Insider.
