Back to School
About 10,000 District 50 students headed back to the classroom Monday morning, many telling stories of summer adventures and saying they are ready to get back to work.
Teachers and staff arrived a week earlier to prepare for the coming year and to try and make sure that everything was ready for their students.
Stability is a key component of the 2012-13 school year. There are no major changes in curriculum or principals.
Superintendent Pamela Swanson began her day at F.M. Day Elementary, where students have shown significant academic improvement over the past several years.
