• New Principals Join the Team

As the 2013-14 school year gets underway, several schools have new leaders this fall, but all of them have long-time connections to the community. In other words, there are some familiar faces in new places.

    Zack White

Skyline Vista Elementary - Zack White is the new principal at Skyline Vista Elementary, but he isn’t new to the community. Zack comes to Skyline from the nearby Pinnacle Charter School where he worked for ten years as a teacher, Dean of Students and Assistant Principal.
Metz Elementary - Claudette Trujillo, a product of District 50, has moved from Shaw Heights Middle School where she worked as Assistant Principal to Principal at Metz Elementary. This is her 14th year in Education and in addition to her time at Shaw Heights, Claudette has worked as a literacy teacher and an instructional coach.
Mesa Elementary - Janelle Stastny, a former Instructional Coach at Harris Park is replacing Shannon Willy as Principal at Mesa Elementary. Janelle also worked as a summer school teacher in District 50 and as a teacher in Longmont.
Westminster Elementary - Russell Warwick is the new Principal at Westminster Elementary after having worked as Assistant Principal at Hodgkins Elementary. Russell has worked in the District since 2003 when he began his education career as a summer school teacher for Middle and High School students.
Ranum Middle School - Shannon Willy, the former Principal at Mesa Elementary, has moved to the Principal position at Ranum Middle School. Shannon grew up in District 50 and is no stranger to working with middle school aged children. She once taught at the old Hodgkins Middle School. Jeffery Walters (better known as Wally), has accepted the position as Assistant Principal. He has most recently served as Dean of Students in Fort Morgan.
Scott Carpenter Middle School - Chadwick Anderson, who has worked as Principal at nearby F.M. Day Elementary has accepted the position of Principal at Scott Carpenter. For Chadwick it was a natural fit, since many of his middle school students were once elementary school students at F.M. Day.

Tom Evans, who was Assistant Principal at F.M. Day is staying at the school and playing a major role in smoothing the transition.
F.M. Day Elementary - Tara Boertzel-Schueneman is taking over the day-to-day operations at F.M. Day as Lead Administrator. Chadwick Anderson will remain the principal of record and continue to assist in the management of the school. Tara comes to District 50 from the Colorado Department of Education.

Shaw Heights Middle School - Jerry Martinez will be assuming the Assistant Principal position at Shaw Heights Middle School. He was previously a Dean at Westminster High School.

Hodgkins Elementary - Jennifer Rizzo will be assuming the Assistant Principal position at Hodgkins Elementary. She was previously at Ranum Middle School.
