• Air Force JROTC Presents Colors at Rockies Game

    The Westminster High School Air Force JROTC had the honor of Presenting the Colors before the start of Tuesday night’s Rockies game against the St. Louis Cardinals.

    JROTC Fans at Coors Field joined and stood at attention as the Color Guard was showcased on the jumbo screen that showed the precession team at work.

    The cadets Presenting The Colors were Team Captain, Cadet Andrew Zamora, Cadet Amanda Kieckhaefer, Cadet Cody Magerfleisch and Cadet Eduardo Coria.

    The team, which is nicknamed the “Nighthawks”, is the oldest continuing unit in Colorado.

    According to the unit’s website the objectives of JROTC (Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps) are to educate and train high school cadets in citizenship, promote community service, instill responsibility, character, and self-discipline, and provide instruction in air and space fundamentals.
