    Welcome back to this week’s edition of the D50 Insider.

    You may have heard students talk about it.
    This week’s Insider video shows you why students are so excited about PMI, Progressive Math Initiative. It’s changing the way students learn.

    They are the unsung heroes in ensuring that a school district is as successful as possible. The Board of Education has approved the members for this year’s District Accountability Advisory Committee. We’ll tell you what DAAC does and why their work is so important.

    Westminster High School students spent the day learning about life after high school and the options available to them. We will tell you all about College Day.

    On Saturday a funeral will be held for Scott Carpenter, the namesake of Scott Carpenter Middle School. We have the details and also news about a plan to honor Carpenter here in District 50.

    Superintendent Pamela Swanson helped the Hyland Hills Foundation raise money at their annual “Hy-Five” luncheon. The Foundation is a major contributor to the health and well-being of District 50 children.

    Congratulations to the Westminster High School football and soccer teams. The football team travels to Grand Junction this weekend for the playoffs and earlier this month the soccer team advanced to the playoffs for the first time in twenty years.

    Tickets are still available for the CenterStage Theater production of Eurydice. We have a preview of the performance and also take you to the Fall Showcase where students and teachers from the Performing Arts Programs shared their talents with the community.

    Cupcakes aren’t just for eating. We have pictures of how students used them to create works of art.

    District 50’s littlest trick-or-treaters dressed in their Halloween costumes this week for their annual parade.
