December 19th - D50 Insider
Welcome back to this week’s edition of the D50 Insider.
This is the final edition of the Insider for this year and we have a Holiday Video Card that we are sure you will enjoy. Take a close look and see if you can spot a loved one singing or dancing.
It’s called the Hour of Code and almost 2,000 District 50 students participated as they learned more about computer science and the career possibilities that come with it. In addition, a handful of students won special prizes.
Students from two elementary schools spent some time with the “Big Kids” in Westminster High School’s STEM program. We will tell you what they learned.
The school district was honored for its commitment to healthy schools with a prestigious award. We have details and information about efforts to make our students even healthier.
If college is in the future for someone you know, there is an event in February that you should mark on your calendar. It will provide important details about paying for college and earning scholarships.
The holidays will be a little brighter for some local families because of the charitable efforts of students at Ranum Middle School and “Have Heart.” We have details about their efforts and how you can share the holiday spirit by helping those who are less fortunate.
As always, check out the program listing for D50 TV this week, as well as the District's calendar of events.
Thanks for reading and see you in 2014.
