WHS Hosts College Tuition, Scholarship Fair
With the help of Congressman Ed Perlmutter and College In Colorado, families from across the north metro area came to Westminster High School Saturday to learn about strategies to pay for college and make higher education a reality.
Perlmutter, who represents the 7th Congressional District, told students and their parents that any kind of schooling beyond high school, “opens up a world of new opportunities.”
Perlmutter acknowledged that it can be expensive, but urged families to look at all available options.
Timothy Clayton, a financial aid counselor for the University of Colorado, also reminded students to continue pursuing scholarships even after getting into college. “There are so many scholarships out there that you should never stop looking,” he said.
Students from around the region attended the event, which provided information on college applications, financial aid and scholarship opportunities. College in Colorado offered financial aid workshops in both English and Spanish.
