Denver Broncos Mascot Visits Ranum
Even the Denver Broncos Super Bowl loss couldn’t lower the team spirit their mascot, Miles, brought to Ranum Middle School on Tuesday.
Sponsored by the Western Dairy Association, Miles delivered a message about living a healthy lifestyle.
Miles demonstrated that good health comes through discipline. He used group-focused games along with messages from Denver Broncos players who shared details about their own lifestyles, exercise habits and diets.
The event was organized by ‘Fuel Up to Play 60’, a Nation-wide program. ‘Fuel Up to Play 60’ promotes health and wellness for students as well as teachers and staff. Ranum Middle School has adopted the program.
“Activity and eating right aren’t easy and sometimes I don’t want to do the things I need to do, but I choose to be doing them to meet my health goals” said 8th grade WEB leader and ‘Fuel Up to Play 60’ member Marcus Mancillas.
Ranum’s chapter of ‘Fuel Up to Play 60’ has immediate plans to initiate a walking program for their school as well as promote healthier snacking.
Before coming to District 50, Miles recently starred in a popular ESPN commercial promoting the Super Bowl.
