• WHS Graduation at First Bank Center in Broomfield

Proud graduates of the Westminster High School Class of 2014 will get diplomas in their own backyard

This year’s ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, May 21 at 6:00 p.m. at the First Bank Center in Broomfield. It is much closer and more convenient than previous celebrations held at the Colorado Convention Center in Downtown Denver.

Close to 500 students will walk across the stage during the ceremony.

“We are very excited about this location,” said Principal Michael Lynch. “We have an opportunity to try some new things that we believe parents and students will like.”

Lynch and other people involved in the graduation went on a site visit to First Bank Center last month and this week visited with the staff of Broomfield High School, which also uses the First Bank Center.

“The folks at Broomfield had nothing but good things to say about the site,” said Lynch.

Among the advantages to First Bank Center is an opportunity to present more customized messaging on the scoreboard and other electronic signage. Also under discussion is the possibility of renting suites to families for a fee that would be used to benefit the school.

More information will be made available as the graduation date comes closer.

Hidden Lake High School will graduate Thursday, May 22 at Ranum Middle School.
