    Welcome back to this week’s edition of the D50 Insider.

    This year’s Teachers of the Year have been named and we will tell you who they are and why they were selected. They are an impressive trio.

    The Colorado State Board of Education has a better understanding and appreciation of District 50’s reform efforts. A team, including Board of Education members met with the state on Wednesday to talk about accreditation issues.

    District 50’s drug education issues are in the spotlight this week. The Annual District 50 Drug Conference sent a very positive message to teens about avoiding drug use, while at the same time, marijuana edibles showed up at one school.

    Dr. Seuss was on the minds of thousands of our students during the annual “Read Across America” day. We have some great pictures of kids and books.

    Next week is the annual District 50 Education Foundation breakfast and this week’s Insider Video shows you how those dollars are being spent on creativity grants.

    High School Musical” is now playing at Westminster High School. We have some clips to share from the performance and details about how to get your tickets.

    And finally, Westminster fans brought some luck to the Denver Nuggets at the annual District 50 Nuggets Night event.
