HLHS Teacher Selected to Shape National Curriculum on Holocaust
Hidden Lake High School history teacher Mark Belnay has been selected as one of the 20 U.S. teachers to be a Museum Teacher Fellow for the Education Division of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum for the 2014-15 school year.
Belnay will attend the Summer Institute training session in Washington, D.C. in July and travel to Europe and visit Nazi concentration camps in the summer of 2015.
The program was created to develop a national corps of skilled teachers who can serve as leaders in Holocaust education. Belnay and his partners will help to write curriculum that can be used at the college, high school and middle school level.
