District Closed to Celebrate Life of Martin Luther King Jr.
A reminder that the District will be closed on Monday, January 19th in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the holiday that celebrates his life and legacy.
The Nobel Peace Prize winning civil rights leader was killed in 1968 in Memphis, Tennessee, but his message of social justice and non-violence continues to this day. District 50 encourages parents to spend time talking with their children about the life of Dr. King and his importance to American history.

You can also join fellow marchers and parade fans in this year's Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Marade that begins in Denver’s City Park on Monday morning. Participants will congregate at the Dr. King memorial site in at 9:00 a.m. The Marade begins at 10:00 a.m. with participants marching together to Civic Center Park, where cake will be served.
