WHS Students Sign Letters of Intent
Family, friends and staff gathered in the gym this month to congratulate two Westminster High School softball players as they signed letters of intent to continue their athletic and educational careers at the college level.
After graduating from high school Olivia Muniz will take her talents to Trinidad State Junior College while Angel Micculli will be playing softball at Colby Community College in Colby, Kansas.
With a 3.89 GPA, Olivia Muniz is a highly accomplished student. She is in the IB diploma program and has lettered in softball all four years at Westy, while also playing golf and basketball. She was voted first team all-conference in the East Metro Athletic Conference (EMAC) softball league this year.
“Olivia is a leader in our building,” said Glenda Bates, Westminster High School’s Athletics and Activities Coordinator.
Angel Micculli has a 3.1 GPA going into her final semester at Westy. She has lettered in softball for the last three years and also played basketball, leading the team in assists this year. Angel was selected as first team all-conference by EMAC and second team all-state by the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA).
“Angel was a leader by example on the softball field and took charge when situations became intense,” Bates added.
Congratulations Olivia and Angel!
