HLHS Educator Breaks Ground in Teaching Holocaust
This year marks the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II and the liberation of the Nazi concentration camps Hidden Lake High School teacher Mark Belnay is determined to make sure his students know not only what happened, but why it happened.
He also insists that they explore the question if more could have been done to stop it.
Last summer, Belnay traveled to the U.S. Holocaust Museum in Washington D.C. as part of a Fellowship to work with other teachers to find the best way to teach the Holocaust to future generations.
This year, he is taking what he learned and sharing it with his students
