• Girls’ B-Ball Team Wins Conference, Hosts Playoff Game Friday

    The Westminster Wolves girls’ basketball team puts its 15 game winning streak on the line Friday night as it hosts a regional state playoff game against Mountain Vista High School. The Wolves won the East Metro Athletic Conference (EMAC) title last week, earning a first round bye and the right to host their first playoff game.

    The game is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Friday night. It is a Colorado High School Student Activities (CHSSA) event, meaning student passes and senior gold cards will not provide free access to the game. Tickets are $5.00

    Girls bball The Wolves are 17-6 overall and went undefeated in EMAC competition; not bad for a team that lost its first three games of the season.

    In the critical win, the Wolves were led by Boltz with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 steals, Angel Micculli with 15 points and 6 rebounds and Gillian Muniz with 6 points, 16 rebounds and 10 blocks.

    The Wolves finished the regular season last Friday with a convincing 62-23 win over Adams City High School.

    The Wolves enter Friday night’s game as number four seed in the region while Mountain Vista is seeded number five. Mountain Vista (14-10) beat Mountain Range 82-36 in their first round game.

    The winner of the Westminster-Mountain Vista showdown will play the winner of Friday night’s game between top rated Thunder Ridge High School and Rocky Mountain High School

    Fans attending the game are encouraged to wear black with teal bandanas or scarfs. Turnout and cheer the Wolves onto victory!
