5 Candidates to Compete for Three BOE Seats
Three incumbents and two new political faces have gathered enough signatures to appear on the November ballot seeking a seat on the Adams County School District 50 Board of Education. The deadline for gathering 50 valid signatures was last Friday.
The candidates run at-large and the three that receive the highest number of votes will join Ryan McCoy and Joe Davidek on the five-member board. Board members serve four year terms and receive no salary.
The incumbents are Larry Dean “Dino” Valente, Ruben Pacheco and Ken Ciancio.
The two new candidates are Max Math and Paola Urgiles
This year’s election is scheduled for Tuesday, November 3, but is an all-mail election, meaning the ballot will be sent to your home address and you can either return it by mail or deliver it to an election “drop box.” Ballots will be mailed by the Adams County Clerk and Recorder the week of October 12.
Under Colorado law you are allowed to register to vote right up until Election Day, but the sooner you do it, the simpler the process. Go to the Colorado Secretary of State’s page for more information.
District 50 will be hosting its Board candidate forum later this month. Details are still being finalized. Once the date and time is determined, the information will be announced on District 50’s website and in the D50 Insider.
