Meet Ed Foundation Leader, Sign up for Newsletter
Stephanie Baer, the new Executive Director of the District 50 Education Foundation, has a passion for her job and it shows. In her short time on the job she has wasted little time in reaching out to the community to build bridges to help students and staff meet their full potential.
Baer was selected earlier this year to lead the Foundation and has just put out the first newsletter for the organization which you can read here. She is also revamping the Foundation’s web page as part of a new look.
While new to the job, Baer is very familiar with the community. She was the former director of the nearby Children’s Outreach Project and the Wellness Initiative. She was also a founding board member of the Early Childhood Partnership of Adams County.
The District 50 Education Foundation was created in 1988 and focuses on three primary missions:
- Scholarships and grants for high school seniors
- The Benevolent Fund with provides medical assistance to students in need
- Creativity Grants to support teacher innovation and programing
Next week you can help raise money for the Foundation while enjoying a round of golf.
Registration is now underway for the Third Annual Ranum/Westminster High School Alumni Golf Tournament scheduled for Friday, September 25th at the Greg Mastriona Golf Course at Hyland Hills.
The tournament, which begins with an 11:00 a.m. shotgun start, provides a fun atmosphere to continue the good natured rivalry between graduates of Westminster and Ranum High Schools. Proceeds from the tournament go to the District 50 Education Foundation and the Hyland Hills Foundation.
The day of golf will be followed by the Alumni Patio Party at Ciancio’s Restaurant at the golf course. The patio party is also open to non-golfers and allows everyone to participate in the day’s fun. You are encouraged to show your Raider/Warrior spirit by wearing school colors and high school gear.
The tournament fills up quickly so if you want to play or create your own foursome, you need to register soon.
