Board Candidates Answer Your Questions
Addressing a series of questions about finances, district properties, student testing, unions and favorite all-time teachers, the candidates running for the District 50 Board of Education made their best case last week for why they should be elected on November 3rd.
The questions were solicited from the general public who provided them in advance to the Communications and Community Relations Department.
The 90-minute gathering also gave the candidates a chance to offer three minute opening statements sharing their vision for the District. They also stayed after the event to answer questions from voters one on one.
You can view the entire forum here and see the candidates opening statements below. As noted in a separate Insider story, Board of Education President Ruben Pacheco announced last week that he was withdrawing from the election. The four remaining candidates are Incumbents Larry Dean (Dino) Valente and Ken Ciancio along with Paola Urgiles and Max Math.
