Ruben Pacheco Withdraws from Race
District 50 Board of Education President Ruben Pacheco notified the Colorado Secretary of State and the Adams County Clerk and Recorder on Tuesday, October 6th that he is withdrawing from the race for the Adams County School District 50 Board of Education.
Because the ballots have already been printed, Pacheco’s name will appear on the ballot, but votes for him will not be counted. Ballots will be mailed to registered voters this week, but voters are reminded they can still register up to Election Day and vote in person at one of six Vote Centers in Adams County.
More information about voting in Adams County can be found at www.mycoloradovote.org.
Pacheco’s departure leaves four candidates competing for three at-large seats for the November 3rd election. Incumbents Larry Dean (Dino) Valente and Ken Ciancio are running along with Paola Urgiles and Max Math.
The community was informed of Pacheco’s decision to withdraw from the race at the Board of Education Election Forum on Tuesday October 6 at Westminster High School. “Everyone here in District 50 and the Community is very appreciative of his commitment to the community and our children,” said Superintendent Pam Swanson. “We wish him well in the future.”
Voters elected Pacheco to the Board of Education in 2011 and fellow board members elected him President in 2013. He is a 1997 graduate of Westminster High School.
