District Showcase, Future Center Ribbon Cutting Set for November 2
There are so many good things happening in District 50 these days that it’s become hard to keep track of all of them.
That’s why parents, students and community members are encouraged to clear their calendar for the night of Monday, November 2 to attend the District Showcase at Westminster High School. The night will also be a chance for many in the community to get their first look at the new “Future Center” in the school library.
The Second Annual District 50 Showcase brings together representatives from all of the District’s schools to share information about the programs, clubs and opportunities available to students. It’s also an opportunity for schools to share their long-range improvement plans and answer questions about the future.
The event will also feature musical performances and display art from the creative students. It is a true celebration of all of the great things going on in the District.
Community partners will also be at the event to talk about programs and services that are available to families in the District.
Last year’s event was a big success, but the addition of the Future Center Ribbon Cutting will make this year even more special.
The Future Center provides students and parents with a place to go to explore all of the options available for students after high school graduation. There is information about college, but also career options as well. While the center is at Westminster High School, it is designed as a resource for students of all ages.
You are never too young to start thinking about the future. Look for more details about the Future Center in the days ahead.
