Students Throw Pies at Teachers
Even students who love their teachers can’t resist the urge to toss a pie at them, especially when it’s for a good cause. On November 19th, Fairview Elementary held its 2nd Annual "Pie Throwing Event and Fundraiser."
The event raised money to support academic focused extra-curricular activities for students, such as Spelling Club.
Students bought one-dollar raffle tickets for a chance of being selected to throw a pie in their favorite teacher’s face. Each student could buy as many raffle tickets as they wanted to increase their chance of receiving one of 40 coveted slots.
The event was created last year by Amber Price, a Gifted and Talented Liaison at Fairview and raised $100 in its first year. This year, Fairview students brought in $275 to go towards their cause.
The money will be split between the Spelling Bee Club, Science Fair Club and Geography Bee Club.
“Overall, a complete success,” said Principal Camile Carlson.
It goes without saying that the event was a hit!
