Metz Students Bring Wizard of Oz to Stage
Students from Metz Elementary brought new meaning to the Wizard of Oz earlier this month as they produced their own version of the story centered on the theme of “defying gravity.” The show, which also used elements from the play “Wicked,” was performed on stage at Ranum Middle School.
Principal Claudette Trujillo said her school was inspired by the resilience and determination of the character Elphaba in The Broadway production of “Wicked” which serves as a prequel to the Wizard of Oz. Students, staff and parents brought all of the elements together to create the production.
