Students Compete for Shot at Academic Glory
When District 50’s best and brightest students gather for the annual Celebrating Academic Excellence (CAE) event at Ranum Middle School on February 20th, the pressure won’t be anything new to them.
The road to CAE began months ago at their individual schools and after hours of work, studying and competition, the students already know they have what it takes to compete. The friendly competition allows students to showcase their academic skills in events ranging from the Spelling and Geography Bees to a Science Fair, Math Counts and computer skills.
The doors to this year’s event open at 8:30 am with the Parade of School Champions beginning at 9:00. Competition will begin immediately after the opening remarks and recognitions.
Last month, an Insider camera was at Tennyson Knolls as students competed for a chance to move to the district-wide competition. As our video shows, all the students, winners and losers, learn lifelong skills.
