College Fair Provides Options, Answers
More than 400 students and parents came looking for answers, and they found them.
They also received an important message; College is affordable if you know how to access the available resources.
Westminster High School again hosted Congressman Ed Perlmutter and College in Colorado’s annual Tuition fair and Scholarship Panel on Saturday, January 30th.
Representatives from Colorado colleges and universities were on hand to answer questions about admission procedures, while the experts were there to answer questions about how to pay for it all.
"Understanding how to plan, apply and pay for college can be daunting," said Perlmutter. "The goal of the Tuition Fair and Scholarship Panel is to help provide resources and information to students and families to help ensure every young person has the opportunity to pursue higher education and the job of their dreams."
The day also allowed the District to share information about the Future Center which opened this fall in the library at Westminster High School. It a free resource for all district families, not just for high school students thinking about college.
The Future Center provides valuable insight into the many choices available to students as they look at life beyond high school graduation. It’s especially helpful to families in which children have never attended college.
The Westminster Window attended the event and has extensive coverage about the day and resources available to students here.
