Joanna Ramsey Theatre Unveiled
There is now a permanent reminder of the impact Joanna Ramsey had on Westminster High School and the thousands of students she worked with in the school’s theatre program.
Tuesday night, about 300 people turned out to celebrate the naming of the theatre after Ramsey, who taught Theatre and Drama for 37 years, most of them at Westminster High School.
Late last year, the Board of Education unanimously voted to name the state-of-the-art theater after Ramsey who retired in 2012.
It was, as you might imagine, an emotional night for Ramsey who thanked her family and District staff for all their support through the years. She had special words for the students and parents who have been part of her productions and her life.
Below is a video of the night’s events and also Joanna’s speech in its entirety.
