• Ranum IB Class of 2006 Raises Money, Shares Memories

    IB Class

Once a Raider, always a Raider!

Once an IB student, always an IB student!

Ranum High School’s first ever International Baccalaureate (IB) Class from 2006 got together over the holidays to reconnect with fellow students and staff members and also to raise money for Westminster High School’s current IB Program.

“I was so happy to see that everyone is doing well,” said Lisa Ly, one of the event organizers, who also provided the toast for the evening. "IB was more than a set of harder classes. We were challenged to be creative, to step outside our comfort zone, join a sports team or fill a service need in our community. The whole experience made us into exceptional people.”

The ten year reunion was held at the Wonderland Brewery in Broomfield on Thursday, December 22.

Faculty and staff who showed up for the night were Amparo Humphrey (IB Spanish), Katie Ryan (former IB Coordinator), Josh Williams (IB World Literature), and Guy Penwell (IB Psychology and Theory of Knowledge).

Alumni who attended were Crystal Barela, David Gray, Lisa Ly, Danielle Nelli Sosias- Velasquez, Katie Brown, Melissa Jeffries, Kayla May, Amber Rivera, Rachel Gracias, Ashleigh Lacey, Kendra Greenmyer, Heather Bordner, and Kara Marie Mastin.

The group raised around $200 to go towards the WHS IB Program to fund exams and program costs.
