Hello Metz Families,
It is our final month of 2018. What we have accomplished in the first four months has school has been amazing to watch. Our students and staff are working hard and having fun while they work.
November was a full and exciting month for our school. Intermediate team Noble went on a field trip to the Denver Art Museum and took their team photo at our state capital. Our Kindergarten and Honor Choir students did a great job at their choir concert. It was exciting to watch our older students work and sing with our younger ones.
We also hosted our annual literacy night in partnership with Read2Kids. We had over 200 people attend this event and our partners provided dinner, entertainment and free books for all children in attendance. Mrs. Logsdon’s class won a pizza party for the largest percentage of students in attendance.
Some of our drama club students and their families attended Westminster High School’s fall play. Our drama club continues their rehearsals each week for their upcoming show. We ended our month with a visiting artist who worked with our primary and intermediate students. Our partnership with the Boulder Contemporary Museum of Art provided us with three days of learning and workshops for our students.
We are exciting to announce that we are establishing another leadership opportunity for our students here at Metz. These student leaders will serve on an advisory committee that meets with the Principal to share their thoughts and opinions about competency-based learning, the arts and the overall school experience here at Metz. We are calling this leadership group “Student Ambassadors for Arts and Education.” We have 75 applicants and the next step of the process for those selected is a personal interview. Students will be notified this month if they are been selected for an interview and then in January is they are selected to be a student ambassador.
Thank you for your partnership.
