• Mariah Boltz Tops 1000 Point Mark

It was a shot for the record book.

Westminster High School Senior Mariah Boltz made history last week scoring her 1000th career point for the girls basketball team.  It was just the latest milestone for the standout athlete who is going to Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois on a basketball scholarship.

When asked about how it felt to top the 1000 point mark, she said, “it was amazing.”

This is her best year ever in terms of scoring.  With the season it its home stretch,  she is averaging 17.6 points were game.  She is also averaging more than two assists, rebounds and steals a game.

Her coach and teammates weren’t surprised citing her leadership, sportsmanship, and incredible talent.

Coach, Jeff Dennis, praised Mariah for her, “enthusiasm, fearlessness, growth in all aspects of the game.”

Mariah fell in love with basketball as a young girl when she began playing in the Hyland Hills Parks and Recreation Program. She continued to improve over the years and her career is not over yet.
