Middle School Counselor
Hello! My name is Jessica Read and I am the Future Center middle school counselor at Ranum Middle School, Scott Carpenter Middle School, Shaw Heights Middle School, Colorado STEM Academy and Westminster Academy for International Studies. My role is to support the career awareness, exploration and planning for 6th to 8th graders in WPS. I am in my third year at WPS, and have spent over six years as a secondary school counselor in Colorado. I like to spend my free time reading, painting and drinking coffee.

Hello! My name is Lauren Hafemann and I am a high school counselor for the Future Center at Westminster High School. This is my sixth year as a counselor in Westminster Public Schools. Overall, I’ve worked at elementary, middle and high school levels as a school counselor for the last 13 years – I am still so happy to work in this profession! In my free time, I like to spend time with my family, Netflix-binge and read.
High School Counselor
Hello! I am a high school counselor for the Future Center at Westminster High School, Hidden Lake High School and Westminster Virtual Academy. I am your contact for questions about concurrent enrollment and ASCENT. This is my second year as a counselor in Westminster Public Schools (WPS). Prior to coming to WPS, I interned at Standley Lake High School in Jeffco and Place Bridge Academy in Denver Public Schools. In my free time, I like to see live theatre, watch lots of films, and spend time with my family.
Bilingual Community & Education Specialists
My name is Whitney Allen. I am the bilingual Parent Academy for Student Success (PASS) coordinator for Westminster Public Schools and run a bilingual program so parents can understand more clearly "what they need to know" to better support their students going to college and beyond. The program also helps parents become strong and respectful advocates for themselves and their students so they can participate fully in the success of their child, the district and the community. This is my third year in the Future Center serving all parents and students as they prepare for, and transition to, college, the workforce or a combination thereof. I also with parent/student college tours and FAFSA nights among other things. For fun, I like to read, ski, cycle, salsa dance, paint and spend time with my own two amazing teenagers!
Community & Education Specialist
Hi! I am the community and education specialist for the Future Center at the middle school level. I serve Westminster Public Schools families in a bilingual capacity, acting as a bridge between home and the school by providing information that will help your middle school student achieve academic success. I am also your link to district and community resources, and proudly play a part in parent engagement as a facilitator for the Parent Academy for Student Success (PASS). This is my third year at WPS, and my seventh year in education. Outside school doors, I am a published poet working on completing my first fiction novel.

Career CoachHola! My name is Yvette De La Cruz and I am Westminster High School's Future Center Career Coach. I am a Denver native, bilingual, and have over 16 years of experience in education. My passion for developing and implementing student engagement stems from an amazing high school mentor that shifted the paradigm of my life. I have a bachelor's degree from Metropolitan State University of Denver in Hospitality, Meeting & Travel Administration with an emphasis in Event Management. I also have a Career and Technical Education (CTE) teaching certificate in Business and Marketing. I thrive on identifying personal student goals, developing leadership skills, and planning career moves. I make certain that students are ready to be successful with employment strategies such as resumes, interviewing skills, and building self-confidence. My interests include entrpreneurship, my Pomeranian, being an event planner, traveling and spending time with my family.
