What is the SAT?


    The Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) results are accepted by four-year colleges and universities in the United States. All students in Colorado take the SAT in April of their Junior year. There is no fee for this statewide testing. It is crucial to do your best on this exam, as it can dramatically impact the choices you have for your future.

    As of March 2016, the SAT consists of:

    • 154 questions
    • 3 hours and 50 minutes long
    • Scoring range of 400-1600
    • NO Penalty for guessing!
    • Students test on math, evidence-based reading and writing, and an optional essay.


    • All students take the SAT during April of their Junior year at no cost
    • SAT Retake Test Fee: $55
      • Fee waivers are available in the Future Center for students on free or reduced lunch
