Higher education and training providers enable our students to earn professional certificates and college credit within the preparation pathway for their career. Our concurrent enrollment partners offer courses students can take while still in high school that help complete their high school course requirements and also provide transcripted college credits. Those partners include:
- Front Range Community College
- Community College of Denver
- Metropolitan State University
- Emily Griffith Technical College
- Red Rocks Community College
In addition to concurrent enrollment and ASCENT — where students attend college for their fifth year of high school provided they earned 12 college credits by the end of their senior year of high school — WPS also offers:- International Baccalaureate (IB) full diploma program
- Advanced Placement (AP) courses
- CU Succeeds silver and gold programs
Many courses taught at Westminster High School also provide college credits to students who successfully complete them. These opportunities include:- Project Lead the Way Biomedical and Engineering courses that offer college credits from University of Colorado - Colorado Springs
- ProStart (culinary arts) offering credits from Metropolitan State University
- Irrigation Technician from Front Range Community College.
If you are a WPS student, come to the Future Center to see what courses you can take that support your career choice and earn you credits toward your professional certification or degree.
