Westminster Public Schools Community,
During normal times, WPS would welcome you back from Spring Break, asking if you had a good time and hoping you created great memories. These are not normal times, but nonetheless we are glad you are back from break and want you to know that we are committed to continuing the education of all of our students.
Because of our Competency Based System (CBS), where students take charge of their own learning from day one, students and teachers have a strong understanding of what is involved in our Anytime/Anywhere learning platform. In the days ahead, principals and teachers will be reaching out to students individually to provide them with their learning assignments and expectations.
Just as we are being called upon to change the way we live our lives, we are being challenged to change the way we educate children. It is critical for parents to know that students are not being given “busy work”, but rather their education is continuing in a different environment and students are expected to take their assignments seriously.
In addition to direct contact with teachers and principals, we are providing general information and links to innovative online learning opportunities at mywps.org/extendedlearning
Remember that we are a district “Where Education is Personal” and we are all #WestyStrong.
